These acid reflux diet recipes should help you cope with your heartburn problems. These recipes are easy to make and digestive friendly...
The problem of acid reflux occurs when there is excess acid in the system, where food doesn't go down easily via the throat to the stomach. In turn the stomach doesn't have the ability to tolerate the acidity level within it, seeing that there is already acid produced by it to break down food.
When the acid backtracks into the esophagus, it causes heartburn which is the most evident sign of having GERD, or acid reflux.
Sometimes, the burning is so incredibly intense that it takes you a couple of seconds to compose yourself. The best remedy to help battle this sensation is to drink cool water. Changing your diet would greatly alter your stomach's situation by providing it with foods that have zero acid presence.
It then gets a little better, healing over time once the diet change kicks in. It is important to stay away from foods that cause acidity such as caffeine, alcohol, and aerated drinks, including foods like lemon, vinegar, ginger, oranges, and spicy foods.

Recipes for Acid Reflux

As the most important rule in acid reflux patients, you need to drink plenty of water and avoid foods that are acid/heat based in nature. It will do you good to follow these acid reflux diet tips to help get your body back on track.

Omelet with Portobello Mushrooms

What You'll Need:
  • 2 pieces of portobello mushrooms
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ teaspoon of black pepper
  • A pinch of salt
  • ¼ cup milk (non fat)
  • Julienned capsicum (½ bell pepper)
  • 2 medium-sized tomato
  • ½ cup of cilantro
  • ¼ Parmesan cheese

Method of Preparation

First crack two eggs into a nice large bowl and beat them until they're nice and creamy smooth. Add in your pinch of salt, ground pepper, milk, capsicum, and chopped up mushrooms. Fold the ingredients within the egg mix and then pour this into a deep dish non-stick pan.
Take a mortal and pestle and crush your tomatoes within this along with your finely chopped cilantro and a pinch of salt - you now have your very own sauce to go with your eggs. Take your omelet out of the pan and then shower the top of it with the cheese shavings.

Poached Chicken and Ham Salad

What You'll Need:
  • Lettuce leaves (3 large pieces, finely sliced)
  • Olive oil (1 tablespoon)
  • Cherry tomatoes (½ cup)
  • Chicken breast (1 piece)
  • 2 ham slices
  • ½ teaspoon of paprika
  • A pinch of pepper
  • Fresh olives (that have not been soaked in salty preservatives, ½ cup)
  • 2 tablespoons of non fat sour cream
  • Broccoli (½ cup, diced)

Method of Preparation:

Keep the chicken and ham on the boil before you start out with your salad bowl ingredients. Take a large bowl and drop into this your lettuce, cherry tomatoes, olives, and broccoli. Fold into this your sour cream, seasoned with black pepper and paprika.
Let the chicken breast and ham cool down to one side, before you shred the chicken and roughly chop your ham slices. Drop these into the salad bowl and again mix these up, bringing it all together with a tablespoon of the olive oil. Add more salt to taste if required.
