How HBOT Works

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is a process to regulate an increased intake of oxygen. This assists with detoxification and the healing process.

How is HBOT Administered?

Patients enter a transparent chamber into which 100% oxygen is pumped. The increase in atmospheric pressure allows concentrated oxygen to be delivered to the damaged tissue. This speeds up the healing process.

How Long are HBOT Sessions?

HBOT sessions might last for a duration starting from ninety minutes, which may extend up to two hours.

What Does HBOT Heal?

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is used to treat:
  • Air embolisms experienced by deep-sea divers. The condition is known as “the bends”
  • Carbon monoxide poisoning emitted by vehicles, engines, fireplaces, furnaces, gas stoves and lanterns.

What Else Can Oxygen Therapy Treat

  • Gas gangrene, which is a bacterial infection producing gas in tissues
  • Neurological problems such as traumatic brain injuries and strokes

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

Generally, one session will suffice for a simple oxygen treatment. Some opt for a session before a marathon and one after to rejuvenate the cells.
