Viral infection symptoms are common and occur as a result of being affected by viruses. This article focuses on different symptoms of this infection which are observed in people belonging to different age groups.

The different diseases which are caused due to viruses are flu, cold, measles, etc. Some of the viral infections vanish without taking any kind of treatment, while some are not very serious but require treatment. On the other hand, the others are very serious and for such viral infections, treatment is mandatory. Viruses affect the whole system of the body and hence, it might lead to a lot of discomfort. In some cases, the symptoms of bacterial infection and viral infection are similar and hence, bacterial infection can be mistaken to be a viral infection. Hence, make sure that proper diagnosis is done in order to know if it is a viral infection or a bacterial infection.
Symptoms
The symptoms of this condition depend on the virus and it varies from person to person. Here are some symptoms given below, which are common and are observed as an effect of this infection.
In Adults
Consumption of food containing virus, i.e. food poisoning, can cause virus infection in adults. The most commonly observed symptoms in adults are vomiting, diarrhea, stomach ache, constipation, and indigestion. Other symptoms like fever, sore throat, cough, and common cold are also observed. Viral infection also causes the weakening of the immune system and the person tends to lack energy. Complete body ache will also be experienced by the affected person.
In Children
The symptoms of this condition in children are not different from that observed in the adults. The most commonly observed ones are headache and fever. Along with this, one would also observe other signs like runny nose, vomiting, and diarrhea. Some children might also experience sore throat, stomach ache, and cough. They might tend to feel tired and weak. In some cases, the face appears to be pale.
In Babies
It is difficult to understand its symptoms in toddlers, as they find it difficult to express what is actually happening to them. However, if the symptoms given below are observed, then the baby might be affected by this condition. Rashes might develop on the skin and the baby might appear to be irritated. Also, one would observe a change in the babies eating habits and he/she would tend to eat very less.
Along with this, the infant would also cry continuously. The other signs in toddlers are lethargy and fatigue. In some cases, the toddler might become sensitive to light. They might not be interested even in playing or performing their other daily activities. Other symptoms which are observed in children and adults will be observed in toddlers as well.
People with weak immune system are more prone to viral infections. Hence, one should take care that they eat healthy food in order to strengthen their immune system. Also, if any of one's family members are affected by it, make sure that they consume nutritious and light food. One can also give them different fruit juices to drink.
On observation of the aforementioned symptoms, one should take medical treatment before the condition worsens. If left untreated, it can lead to serious disease and hence, proper care should be taken.
