Ingredients

  • ½ cup plain canned pumpkin
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  • 2/3 cup frozen butternut squash

Method
This pumpkin shake can be served for breakfast, lunch or dinner. It is tasty, low in fat and high in protein which makes it one of the best recipes for people who have recently undergone bariatric surgery. Just gather all the above given ingredients and blend them in a mixer. You can also add pumpkin pie sugar-free syrup for better taste and ice as desired. The quantity mentioned above is sufficient for two people.

2# Slow Cooker Pork Chops and Sweet Potatoes

  • 3 pork chops, trimmed of fat
  • 2 fresh sweet potatoes
  • ½ can whole cranberry sauce
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Method
This dish also comes under the low fat diet. Get all the ingredients. Layer the pork chops with cranberry sauce in slow cooker. Then later you can either cook this dish in high settings for 4 hours or in low for 6 to 8 hours. Add the fresh sweet potatoes on the top of the slow cooker at the beginning of cooking time. Once cooked you can severe it hot. This dish is easy and of course tasty.

3# Apricot Cream Cheese Cookies

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups flour and a small quantity for rolling
  • ½ tablespoon salt
  • Sugar free apricot preserves

Method
This is one of the tastiest cookies in the bariatric recipes. Get all the ingredients required and start with the preparation. First of all, blend the cream cheese and butter. Then add flour and salt and then again blend them properly. Now collect all the mixture and make a small ball. Cover it with a plastic wrap and then chill it for 1 to 2 hours. Now take out the dough and roll it over the dust of flour. Cut it into squares of 2 inches approx. Again roll over the remaining. By that time preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Now take ¼ tablespoon of sugar-free apricot preserves and place it over the squares. Now fold the opposite corners of the squares and slightly overlap the ends and press them so that they get stuck to each other. Place all these cookies on the cookie sheet and place them inside the oven. Place all the cookies at least ½ inches apart from each other. Bake them for 10 to 12 minutes. Once all the cookies cool down, just pour a small amount of sugar-free apricot preserves again over the cookies.

I hope after going through these easy and delicious bariatric recipes, you will not consider the bariatric diet boring and tasteless.
