But when these food particles are not broken down due to some reasons, the condition is called indigestion. Indigestion is a very common condition which is faced by many people. It may be caused due to many reasons which may or may not be serious. But sometimes when the indigestion is accompanied by some other symptoms like vomiting, dizziness, nausea, etc., then it may be indicative of some serious problem. Likewise when indigestion and back pain are observed together then it may also be an indication towards something serious. Let's find out the causes behind this problem.

Indigestion Accompanied by Back Pain

Indigestion with back pain is observed very rarely and if that happens then it is better to find out the cause behind it. Following are some of the common causes of back pain with indigestion.

Gallbladder Diseases
Gallbladder diseases can be caused in any one but women are more prone to these disease than men. One of the most common gallbladder disease is gallstone. These are solid structures which are formed due to the accumulation of cholesterol, calcium and bile salts. It is rarely seen in the young people, hence we can say that the possibility of acquiring this disease increases with increasing age. People who have high blood cholesterol level, obesity, a family history of gallstones, suffering from chronic intestinal inflammation, or women who take medications with high estrogen levels are more susceptible to this disease. Symptoms associated with this problem are gas, constipation, indigestion after eating any spicy and fatty food, pain in the right side of the rib cage, light colored stool, dizziness, headache, back pain, etc.

Stomach Ulcer
Stomach ulcer can be observed in any age group. The symptoms may also vary from person to person. The most common symptom of this problem is back pain and indigestion. Other symptoms are difficulty swallowing, anemia, blood in vomit, weight loss, black or tar like stool, burning sensation in the stomach, etc. These symptoms should be noticed in time as delayed treatment may cause many complications.

Heart Attack
People usually ignore the symptoms such as back pain and indigestion but they should known that these symptoms may also be associated with a heart attack. The person may also experience other symptoms such as burning pain in the middle of the chest, neck, jaw, arm, shoulder and back. Apart from these, weakness, sweating, shortness of breath, dizziness etc. may also be noticed. As soon as you recognize the symptoms you should immediately take medical help. Otherwise, it may result in life-threatening consequences.

Other Causes
Indigestion can be accompanied by back pain at the time of pregnancy also. This is nearly unavoidable because of the increasing size of the uterus which causes pressure in the adjoining areas and induces pain and conditions like indigestion. Stomach cancer can also be a cause of indigestion back pain. It may be caused due to the internal bleeding caused due to the stomach tumor. In case of severe pain, consult a doctor immediately to avoid complications.

Symptoms like back pain and indigestion can be treated with the help of many pain killers but to get it treated properly you need to get the causes treated. As soon as the symptoms of any of the above causes are noticed the person should immediately take medical support. Change in the diet plan may also help to overcome indigestion.
